Director Joe Wright saw a definite rebound with his most recent film, Darkest Hour, which scored a clutch of Oscar nominations, leading to wins for Gary Oldman and the make-up team who turned him into Winston Churchill. He's looking to follow that with a fictional thriller called The Woman In The Window.

Pulitzer Prizewinner Tracey Letts is adapting AJ Finn's bestseller, which has a definite Rear Window vibe. The story follows Dr. Anna Fox, who spends her time hiding away in her New York home, drinking too much, watching old movies and spying on her neighbours.

But when she starts focusing on the seemingly perfect Russell family across the way, she witnesses something she shouldn't have. Which is when things get dangerous...

Wright's a busy man since Darkest Hour, and he's also developing an adaptation of a book called Stoner, so we'll see which film ends up taking his attention.
