The A-Team's Joe Carnahan has lined up a new action thriller to get involved in, with the news that he's taking on the long-gestating Umbra, planning to rewrite the script and direct it for the screen. Insert love-it-when-a-plan-comes-together joke here.

The story sees a businessman receive a mysterious package in his mailbox and get thrust into the middle of a government conspiracy as a result, all down to some super-secret government agency (because you just can't trust those guys). Soon he's on the run, and attempting to piece together clues about what's going on. Without wishing to give away too much, he'll discover a connection between himself and this oh-so-secret group.

The script was originally written by Steven Karczynski, and at one point way back in the dim and distant days of 2009, Roger Donaldson was in line to direct. Let's hope that this time it actually moves ahead.
