With an Oscar under his belt for Joker, Joaquin Phoenix has been looking for new roles - he already has one lined up with Ridley Scott. But before that one even happens, Phoenix has confirmed his attachment to the latest film from Midsommar's Ari Aster.
Rumours swirled in November last year that Phoenix and Aster were looking to collaborate on something, there was a different title, Beau Is Afraid, with a horror angle and an alternate present setting. Now, according to Deadline, Aster's regular studio A24 is financing Disappointment Blvd, which is described as "an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time."
There's no word on when this might shooting, but it seems set to be Phoenix's next job. He does have one other film that should be arriving this year, Mike Mills' C'mon C'mon.
