It's seemingly all about the superhero surprises in today's news. With word that Michael Keaton's in talks to suit back up as Batman for the Flash movie, along comes JK Simmons to drop a nugget of info about the future of trouble-making fake newsman J. Jonah Jameson in Sony's branch of the MCU.
The blustery Jameson was in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, the editor of the Daily Bugle, the role he has traditionally played in the comics. In Far From Home, he was re-invented as a fake news-pushing web blogger for The Daily Bugle.Net, who revealed Spidey's true identity to the world and labelled him a criminal.
Talking on a SiriusXM show, Simmons admitted that a return appearance for Jameson is already in the can and another is planned. Can we take that to mean that he pops up in Morbius? Or maybe even Venom 2? We doubt anything has been shot for the third planned Spider-Man film, unless the team banked footage ready for that? Either way, we're just happy to have more JJJ on our screens.
Listen to all he says on the subject below.
