JJ Abrams clearly isn't letting his return to work in the Star Wars universe for Episode IX get in the way of producing other things, and he's added yet another series to his long list of projects. He'll work with singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles and writer Jessie Nelson to create Little Voice, a new show combining comedy, drama and music for Apple.

The tech company, which is pushing aggressively into the streaming TV world, has ordered 10 initial episodes of the series, which shares the title of Bareilles debut album and aims to show the diverse musicality of New York. Deadline has heard it'll be a "fresh, intensely romantic take of the search to find your true voice... And then the courage to use it."

Bareilles and Nelson previously worked together on the hit musical adaptation of the movie Waitress, and Nelson will write and direct the first episode of Little Voice, then run the show.
