Indie thriller Transit is adding actors left and right, with Jim Caviezel and James Frain as the latest additions.
The film will aim to blend family drama with a crime thriller as it sees a group of bank robbers (including Frain, Harold Perrineau and Diora Baird) on the run from the law who discover a prime hiding place for their loot in the trunk of an SUV.
Unfortunately for the people who own the vehicle – who had been planning a camping trip – the thieves come after their money when the coast is clear. Caviezel will play the dad, who has to protect his wife (Elisabeth Rohm) and kids from the murderous outlaws.
Frain has been cropping up recently on True Blood, getting into the melodramatic spirit as vampire operative Franklin Mott. He’s also playing one of the villains in Tron Legacy. Caviezel, meanwhile, starred in the dodgy recent remake of The Prisoner and is rumoured to be taking on the role of William Tell in a new movie. What, playing Jesus wasn’t enough for him?
Antonio Negret is directing Transit, from a script by Michael Gilvary. If we have any concerns, it’s that Courtney Solomon, the man who brought the world Dungeons & Dragons, is producing it.
