Jessica Williams is probably best known for her role as a correspondent on The Daily Show, though she's cropped up in movies such as People Places Things and Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and TV series including Girls. But if the Sundance buzz success of The Incredible Jessica James translates to wider attention, she could be kicking off the next phase of her career. Check out the teaser trailer for the movie.
Written and directed by Jim Strouse (who also made People Places Things), Jessica James is a look at modern life and love through the lens of its main character, an aspiring playwright working odd jobs to make ends meet.
Recovering from a recent break-up and thoroughly discouraged by the world of Tinder, she finds an odd connection with the recently divorced Boone (Chris O'Dowd), and navigates through the tough times.
With Lakeith Stanfield and Noel Wells also in the cast, The Incredible Jessica James hits Netflix on 28 July.
