Director J.C. Chandor already has a great male lead for his next film, A Most Violent Yea****r. He’s following that up with a superb choice as female lead, with Jessica Chastain in negotiations.

We’d really like to bring you some details of the plot here, but sadly those are still being kept in a lockbox at the bottom of the ocean. Or, you know, safely on Chandor’s computer.

The writer/director is currently waiting to unleash his latest, the Robert Redford seagoing drama All Is Lost upon the world, after a successful launch at Cannes. It’ll dock here on December 13. A Most Violent Year, meanwhile, should be shooting later this year but doesn’t have a set release date yet.

Chastain is, as ever, in demand. Last seen in Mama, she has The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby His & Hers and Miss Julie already shot and will be seen in both Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak.
