If you were eagerly awaiting the chance to see the likes of Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o and Penelope Cruz kicking ass in spy thriller The 355, we're afraid you're going to have to show a little more patience. Universal is moving the film back to 2022.
It's all a part of the scheduling shuffle as a result of more cinema closures and date shifts – 2021 has become an increasingly crowded place. So even though the film is finished and ready to go out, it'll now be delayed a year.
The 355 finds Chastain as ‘Mace’ Brown, a CIA agent who assembles a global team of espionage agents (including Nyong’o’s Khadijah, Diane Kruger’s Marie, and Fan Bingbing’s Lin Mi Sheng) to take out a catastrophic new threat. Chastain originally pitched the concept Simon Kinberg while they worked together on Dark Phoenix, and he wrote the script with Theresa Rebeck.
With Edgar Ramirez and Sebastian Stan also in the cast, The 355 will now be out in January 2022.
