We know she's single right now, but does Jessica Alba really need The Love Guru? She can't be short of admirers. Still, she's obviously ensuring her romantic future, with the news that she's joined Mike Myers' new film, his first live-action since The Cat in the Hat in 2003. But even better is the news that Myers' old sparring buddy Verne Troyer, aka Mini Me, is also joining the cast.

Alba will be playing the owner of an ice hockey team and Myers' love interest, while Troyer plays the team's coach. Meanwhile, The 40 Year-Old Virgin's Romany Malco will play the team's star player, whose wife is involved with the star player on a rival team. Myers' "love guru" Pitka, an American raised on an Indian ashram, is called in by Alba's character to break up the affair, get the couple back together and thereby ensure that the team's MVP gets them to the championship and Pitka himself establishes his reputation as the loviest guru in town.

Marco Schnabel, a second-unit director on Austin Powers in Goldmember and Meet the Parents, is directing, with production due to start any minute for a June 20 release next year. Let's hope Myers can bring that old magic back to play - but surely having Troyer by his side has got to be a good omen.
