Even after starting shooting his latest, the low-budget dark action comedy Stretch, Joe Carnahan is still finding people to cram into the film. Jessica Alba is the latest actor to sign on.
Stretch finds Patrick Wilson as a down-on-his-luck limo driver in debt to some dangerous people. Needing money, he agrees to drive an eccentric billionaire (Chris Pine) around for a night. What he doesn’t factor in is that the rich guy is a total weirdo with his own criminal connections, who puts both their lives in danger by selling off his list of underworld contacts and making increasingly bizarre special requests as the night wears on.
Ed Helms is aboard to play a fellow driver, with Brooklyn Decker as Wilson’s party girl ex. Ray Liotta is cameoing as himself and Alba has snagged a supporting role, though we don’t yet know if she’ll be playing herself or a character.
Carnahan's pic hits the US next march, but doesn’t yet have a UK date. Alba will be back on screens in Robert Rodriguez sequels **Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For and also has a role in comedy A.C.O.D. **
