Jesse Plemons has worked a couple of times for director Scott Cooper, and the pair has clearly built a rapport. The actor will now co-star with Keri Russell in Cooper's new horror film, Antlers.

Adapted by Nick Antosca and Henry Chaisson from Antosca's short story The Quiet Boy, Antlers sees a teacher (Russell) discovering that a student's family hides a terrifying secret, one that she has to fight for survival against when she takes the boy into her care, and that might affect the future of their town. Variety's report doesn't specify who Plemons will play in the film.

Guillermo del Toro is producing the new movie, working alongside Fox Searchlight to shepherd it to screens. The cameras should be rolling on Antlers in the autumn.

Plemons is currently at work on Jungle Cruise and will also be seen in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman.
