It’s that time again: even as Woody Allen prepares to launch his current film – now called Irrational Man – he has one eye on the movie he’ll make this summer. Deadline is reporting that Jesse Eisenberg, Bruce Willis and Kristen Stewart are on board.
As usual for an Allen films, nothing has been revealed about the title or the plot. What can we tell you? Expect the standard credits font, and the jazzy soundtrack, but we’ll wait and see whether he’s still preferring to shoot in Europe (as recently with Magic In The Moonlight), headed back to the States (ditto, Blue Jasmine) or going elsewhere. Could this be the first Woody Allen production set on the moon?
Assuming both Eisenberg (who worked on To Rome With Love for the director) and Stewart sign on, it will mark the third team-up for the pair after Adventureland and the upcoming American Ultra. Willis, meanwhile, could use a job working for another auteur to keep him away from dodgy straight-to-DVD titles.
Irrational Man stars Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, Jamie Blackley and Parker Posey and follows what happens when a college professor falls for a student. It will arrive in the US on July 24 but has yet to lock in a UK date.
