We’ve had Battleship. Angry Birds has been and gone. Now it’s the turn of playground games, with Jeremy Renner and Hannibal Buress preparing to roll up their sleeves for an on-screen game of tag.
The trio will join the already cast Ed Helms and Tracy Morgan for this epic bout of Tag, based on a Wall Street Journal article about a group of friends who have been embroiled in one long round of the game for three decades. Three decades.
Renner hasn't had much chance to flex his comedy muscles on the big screen, so this will be a nice change of pace from having a bow and arrow strapped to his back. Buress, on the other hand is a seasoned comic who has been popping up left, right and centre of late, most notably in Broad City and Bad Neighbours. He's also got Baywatch and Spider-Man: Homecoming on his slate.
As for who will be in the director's chair, Jeff Tomsic will make his theatrical debut after a decade working in television (Broad City, This Is Not Happening).
At the time of writing, we're still awaiting news on that Knock Down Ginger film.
