The idea of Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer starring opposite each other in a comedy is certainly a promising one, so it's good to learn that they've joined a new film called Shotgun Wedding.

Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore is calling the shots for this one, with a script from Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether. Oh, and a certain Mr. Ryan Reynolds as an executive producer, which makes us suspect he was offered the film originally, but still retains a credit.

The film follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer), who gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage...

Lionsgate is backing the movie, with shooting aiming to kick off early next year. Hammer is on our screens now in Netflix's Rebecca and has Death On The Nile coming up in December. Lopez will be seen in Universal's Marry Me, due on 12 February next year.
