Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence must have enjoyed working together on David O Russell’s **The Silver Linings **Playbook: they’re now planning to reunite for an adaptation of Ron Rash’s book Serena.

The tome tells the tale of young newlyweds George and Serena Pemberton, who move to North Carolina in 1929 with the aim to build a timber empire. Given Serena’s ruthless ambition, they’re business types in the Daniel Plainview mould – anyone who gets in their way is either ruined or killed.

But then a serious spanner is chucked into their master plan’s works when Serena discovers she can’t have kids. And also that George has an illegitimate son who she decides must die.

Susanne Bier is on board to direct, replacing the man who flirted with making the film back in 2010 – Darren Aronofsky. At the time, Angelina Jolie was considering taking the Serena role. That version never gelled (obviously), but now Mark Cuban’s 2929 Entertainment has stumped up the funding and Bier should be shooting soon.

Cooper was last seen in The Hangover 2 and has some decent dramas coming up including The Words, Derek Cianfrance’s** The Place Beyond The Pines** and the aforementioned Silver Linings Playbook. He’s also getting ready to star in Paradise Lost. Lawrence, meanwhile, has The Hunger Games set to land on March 23.
