Given that she has a new film headed to cinemas this year (X-Men: Dark Phoenix), it might not feel as though Jennifer Lawrence has taken a break from cinema work. But step back she has, and is now looking to return with a drama about which we know very little.
Despite the fact that this isn't some secretive new superhero project or JJ Abrams film, Deadline could dig up zero details in the way of plot, and all we really know is that theatre director Lila Neugebauer will call the shots, working from a script by Elizabeth Sanders. Oh! And it'll shoot in New Orleans this coming June.
It will apparently find Lawrence returning to the smaller scale and grittier nature of the movies that helped make her name, including Winter's Bone, and has the backing of A24 and IAC Films.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix, as mentioned above, will be with us on 5 June.
