Thus far, we know very little of what Darren Aronofsky's latest, the Jennifer Lawrence-starring Mother! is actually about. And this first poster, tweeted out by the director yesterday for the Stateside celebration of Mother's Day, sheds very little light on the matter.
It's certainly a striking image, though, with Lawrence's character holding her own removed heart out and seemingly able to survive. An unknown mutant power? We think not, but more likely a metaphor. What we do know of the plot is a the basic synopsis that has more escaped than been released so far: a couple finds their relationship tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting an otherwise tranquil existence.
With a script by Aronofsky, the film also stars Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, Kristen Wiig and Ed Harris. It'll be out in the UK on 10 November.
