Going purely on box office rather than critical reaction, Jennifer Aniston had a successful 2011 with comedies Just Go With It and Horrible Bosses. Now she’s aiming to blend a little more drama into the comedy sauce, signing on to star in Paul Andrew Williams’ Miss You Already.

Williams wrote the script with Morwenna Banks, and the story follows how two life-long friends’ relationship is negatively affected when one becomes pregnant and the other falls seriously ill. It doesn’t sound like a laugh-riot, but after last year's 50/50 maybe there's something to be said for comedies with serious subject matter. Entertainment One will bring the film over here, and Williams plans to start shooting this summer. Aniston’s name is helping drum up other sales at the European Film Market.

The director’s most recent film,** Song For Marion**, is now moving through post-production on its way to the screen. Aniston, meanwhile, will next be seen alongside Paul Rudd in David Wain’s new comedy Wanderlust. That will stroll into UK cinemas on March 2.
