Given that it’s been months since we last reported on Peter Bogdanovich’s comedy** Squirrels To Nuts**, we figured it had either been shot or shelved. But while it didn’t make a targeted autumn production date, it has a new title and has added Jennifer Aniston to the cast.
The film, co-written by Bogdanovich and Louise Stratton, finds Owen Wilson as a married Broadway stage director who falls for a prostitute (Brie Larson). When she shows interest in becoming an actress, he decides to help her with her career.
Aniston is aboard to play a therapist whose mother is in rehab for alcohol issues. Yeah, it’s that kind of comedy. She joins a cast that includes Jason Schwartzman, Cybil Shepherd, Eugene Levy and Kathryn Hahn.
Bogdanovich appears to have set up the proper funding now, which means he’ll be able to get the cameras rolling this May in New York, barring any other delays.
