In between stints as Batman, writing and directing Dennis Lehane adaptation **Live By Night **and other projects he’s now attached to, Ben Affleck will star for Gavin O’Connor in The Accountant. The director has begun building a cast around his leading man, and both Jeffrey Tambor and John Lithgow have now made deals{
**The Accountant **finds Affleck as a seemingly mild-mannered bean counter with Asperger’s who just so happens to moonlight as an assassin. J.K. Simmons is set in an unspecified role, while Jon Bernthal will be a mercenary and Anna Kendrick an accounting whizz who falls in with Affleck.
Tambor, who has just won a Golden Globe for his work on Amazon series Transparent, is set as a veteran Mafia accountant who acts as Affleck’s mentor – potentially in more than just matters of money management. And while The Hollywood Reporter trumpets Tambor's casting, Deadline reports that Lithgow has snagged the role of Lamar Black, a tech magnate in the robotics field who hires Affleck’s character to look at his company’s accounting after some financial irregularities.
With Bill Dubuque providing the script, Warner Bros. has this one gearing up to shoot shortly.
