Even before A Quiet Place Part II became one of the first films to really perform at the box office in the pandemic era, there was interest in the widening scope of the movie's universe. We learned in November last year that Midnight Special's Jeff Nichols would be directing a spin-off set in the same creature-ravaged world, and Quiet Place overseer John Krasinski even enthused about the choice to Empire. It's not happening now, though – at least with Nichols, as he's decided to focus on his own work.
Paramount seems unlikely to be too angry, though, since that other film – an untitled sci-fi project he's had in the works for a while now and that the studio is apparently excited by.
And this is certainly not the end for the expanding Quiet Place universe - Paramount wants still wants to make it and is meeting with other potential filmmakers.
