While he used to pop up in guest starring roles on TV series back in the 1960s and '70s, Jeff Bridges has largely focused on the big screen. Like many of his peers, he's headed back to the telly for a new drama called The Old Man.
Based on Thomas Perry's novel, the show will focus on Dan Chase, played by Bridges, who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The cameras should start rolling in the autumn.
This new show comes from Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine, who last co-created pirate drama Black Sails. There's no sign yet when it might hit screens.
As for Bridges, he doesn't have anything filming right now, but he's attached to several projects in development.
