With the cameras now rolling in Hawaii’s picturesque Honolulu, Cameron Crowe is closer than ever to getting his long-gestating, still-untitled new rom-com project to our screens. He has a new recruit for the cast in the shape of Jay Baruchel{ =nofollow}.

The actor joins Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride and Alec Baldwin in the story of a defence contractor (Cooper) who arrives on the island to oversee a weapons satellite launch.

He’s assigned an Air Force pilot (Stone) as his liaison and ends up A) falling for her and B) trying to scuttle the launch after hearing from both mystical island forces and a strange talking computer.

Baruchel is aboard to play Cooper’s stepbrother. He's not the only person set to join the film: The Wrap reports that Bill Murray is now also in talks for an unspecified role. It would mark the first collaboration between Crowe and Murray.

Baruchel was last seen playing a version of himself in This Is The End and will next show up in the RoboCop remake (due February 7), Don Peyote, and DreamWorks’ sequel ‘toon How To Train Your Dragon 2, which lands here on July 4.
