The heat around the Marvel/Netflix superhero shows may have dimmed after the slight disappointment of the Defenders team up, but the solo shows remain active concerns. Daredevil's third season is headed our way and the creative team is adding Jay Ali to the cast mix.
This latest run of episodes will explore the fallout of The Defenders, with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) badly injured. Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page and Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson are back and their relationship will be as thorny as ever, though Matt's health issues will help draw them closer again. Vincent D'Onofrio is also coming back as Wilson Fisk, so at least the series will have its best villain present and correct. And then there's Joanne Whalley, playing a character who has a deep connection to our hero.
As for Ali, he's been hired in the role of Rahul “Ray” Nadeem, an honest, but ambitious FBI agent willing to go to any length for his family. "I love Jay Ali," says executive producer and showrunner Erik Oleson. "It Isn’t easy to join a cast as talented as Marvel’s Daredevil – and Jay blew us all out of the water with his audition. His moving performance in Season 3 will show the world that he’s a star in the making." The season should be on screens later this year.
