**Saturday Night Live **star Jason Sudeikis could have spent his summer hiatus from the show in any number of ways: playing Xbox Live (we have it on good authority that he’s often to be found on there, killing 12 year-olds in a purely metaphorical sense, of course). Rearranging his stamp collection, should he have one. Trying to work out what, in the name of all that is holy and right in this world, made Burt Reynolds agree to pose for this photo.jpg){href='http://www.cbc.ca/thehour/blog/images/Cosmo1(BurtReynolds).jpg' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'}.

But instead he seems to have decided to cram in a bucketload of movies instead. And good for him.

The 33 year-old, one of the funniest cast members on the show, has already started work on Bounty Hunter, the Jennifer Aniston-Gerard Butler action-comedy, and now he’s signed on to join Drew Barrymore and Justin Long in their new comedy, Going The Distance.

The movie revolves around a couple (guess who) trying to make their long-distance relationship. Sudeikis, who specialises in boorish assholes and, conversely, likeable Everymen, will play Box, the best friend of Long’s character, who advises him against going through with the relationship. So we’re guessing that you can file this one under the ‘boorish asshole’ category.

Still, the film’s shaping up pretty well, if the cast is anything to go by. Christina Applegate and Charlie Day also recently signed on to the New Line project, which will be directed by Nanette Burstein.
