In addition to his regular gig on Saturday Night Live, it felt like Hall Pass’ Jason Sudeikis appeared in half the comedies released this year. Now he’s just booked another job, signing on to Will Ferrell/Zach Galifianakis comedy Dog Fight.

**Dinner For Schmucks **director Jay Roach is behind the camera for the film, which will find Ferrell and Galifianakis squaring off as rival politicians in a small district in South Carolina. Despite the seemingly low-key locale, the prize is a seat in the US congress, so the competition naturally turns nasty. And – they hope – funny.

There’s no word yet on whom Sudeikis will be playing, but he’s joining a cast that already includes Sarah Baker and Katherine LaNasa.

With a script by Shawn Harwell and Land Of The Lost’s Chris Henchy, Roach starts shooting the mayhem in November, aiming for an August 2012 release date.

Assuming he doesn’t get cast in 15 comedies between now and then, Sudeikis will also be seen in Movie 43, the film comprised of comic shorts being spearheaded by the Farrelly brothers and featuring a wealth of talent including Elizabeth Banks, Emma Stone, Kate Winslet, Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel and Justin Long.
