Tony Scott is looking to gather one hell of a leading trio as he slots the pieces into place to make his next movie, crime drama Potzdamer Platz. If it all comes together, we could actually see the combo of Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke and Javier Bardem in one film.
While Scott hasn’t finally locked everything into place just yet – the movie, which according to Deadline New York could well get a new title, doesn’t have full financing or studio backing in place yet – he’s definitely interested in getting moving on the passion project, a tale of two members of a New Jersey crime family who figure they can take business to the international level.
Sexy Beast writers David Scinto and Louis Mellis have written the current draft of the script and several parties, including Lionsgate and Fox, are considering backing it.
With luck, it could be headed before cameras in the autumn.
