Jason Statham is exactly the person we think of when we consider someone who stars in action thrillers. As for bee keeping? Not so much. But he'll reportedly be blending the two in a new movie called The Bee Keeper.

Equilibrium and Point Break remake writer Kurt Wimmer cooked up the concept as a spec script. What is that concept? Production studio Miramax isn't saying right now, but Deadline has learned that it's "a lightning-paced thriller deeply steeped in the mythology of Bee Keeping." Will Nicolas Cage co-star? Probably not.

“The Bee Keeper explores universal themes with an unconventional story that will have fans sitting on the edge of their seats. We’re excited to bring another iconic and irresistible film to audiences around the globe,” says Miramax CEO Bill Block.

Though Wimmer has directed a number of films in his career, it appears he's just writing and producing this one, with Miramax now on the hunt for a director and looking to have this one shooting later next year in London and Atlanta.
