Though Conan The Barbarian didn’t exactly turn into the cinematic launch pad he might’ve hoped it would, Jason Momoa isn’t letting that stop him plugging away on the big screen. He’s now scored the villain role in David Hayter’s lupine thriller Wolves.
Lucas Till was signed earlier this month to star in the film, playing an 18-year-old who discovers his family has a hairy history. When he transforms into a werewolf and his parents die in mysterious circumstances, he goes on the run and ends up in an isolated town.
The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the place is called Lupine Ridge, which couldn’t be more of a clue even if it was named Howlington On Sea. Momoa will be the powerful – and dangerous – werewolf patriarch who rules the local pack and therefore the town.
Hayter, who is making his full-length directorial debut with the film, will take his cast to Toronto to begin shooting next month. Chances are Momoa will be able to swap first-time filmmaking stories, as he’s just finished making Road To Paloma, which he co-wrote, directed and starred in. He’ll also next crop up as a villain in Bullet To The Head, which arrives on February 1 next year.
