It's hard to believe it's been almost three years since we first reported that Dune and See co-stars Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa are set to team up on buddy comedy The Wrecking Crew. But now, at long last, we've finally got an exciting new update on the movie that started with a tweet (see below). Per The Wrap's reporting, the Ángel Manuel Soto (Blue Beetle) helmed film has found its lead villain in the shape of The New Look and Bad Sisters star Claes Bang.

Momoa and Bautista's See Season 2 showrunner Jonathan Tropper, who's recently landed gigs writing both Shawn Levy's new Star Wars movie and Chris Hemsworth Apple sci-fi The Corsair Code, has written the script — completed before last year's WGA strikes — for this one. We don't know a hell of a lot about the project thus far, but The Wrecking Crew *is* set to see Bautista and Momoa revisit the estranged brother dynamic they played as Edo and Baba Voss in See — albeit with a few more chuckles promised along the way. Here's the official synopsis as shared by The Wrap: "[The Wrecking Crew] follows two half-brothers — one a loose cannon cop (Momoa) and the other a disciplined Navy SEAL (Bautista). After 20-odd years of bad blood, they must work together to unravel the conspiracy behind their father’s murder in Hawaii."

How Bang factors into the equation is being kept under wraps at this point, though it seems reasonable to suspect the Danish actor may know something about our boys Momoa and Bautista's father's murder given that he's the villain. However this one eventually shakes out though, the main thing is that we will get to see it, which — given the scarcity of updates on the movie since Amazon MGM's acquisition three years ago — wasn't always a guarantee. Will The Wrecking Crew clean up at the box office? Or will it prove to be a bit of a demolition job? Only time will tell. With Momoa and Bautista front and centre though, and Bang going full big bad, you can bet we'll be there on opening day (whenever that may be) to find out.
