Jason Clarke has been scoring some great jobs recently, and his luck doesn’t seem to be changing, as he’s just been cast in Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled drama thriller about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
Clarke – who will also be seen in **The Wettest County In The World **and Baz Luhrmann’s take on The Great Gatsby – is playing a terrorist-tracking specialist.
From the sounds of it, Bigelow is looking to put together an amazing ensemble. Among those on her wish list are Tom Hardy, Jennifer Ehle, Idris Elba, Rooney Mara and Midnight In Paris’ Nina Arianda. Given that they’re all in demand, there’s a chance we might only see a few of those actually join the film. But with Bigelow’s standing after The Hurt Locker, we figure several would shift schedules around for the chance to work with her. Oh, and talking of the Oscar-winning bomb drama, Locker’s Guy Pearce is also being considered. Fingers crossed, folks, fingers crossed.
Mark Boal has once again written the script, which of course had to be tweaked following Bin Laden’s death. Bigelow wants to kick off shooting early next year.
