We told you yesterday about Colin Farrellconsidering a role in New Line’s comedy Horrible Bosses. Now Jason Bateman and Charlie Day are in line to snag parts.

The film has been developing for years at the studio, grinding through casting candidates like Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Dax Shepherd, Matthew McConaughey and Ashton Kutcher. And a number of directors, including Frank Oz and David Dobkin have considered the job.

But now, says The Hollywood Reporter{ =nofollow}, Bateman and Day – who is one of the writers/stars of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia – are locking down deals to star as two of three friends who hate their bosses and plot to kill them. Bateman would be the hard working hero who is passed over for promotion and decides to act, while Day will be a hapless sort who often gets dumped on. There’s a third friend still waiting to be cast: a ladies’ man who gets replaced when his boss dies.

Farrell, meanwhile, is up for one of the bosses. Plus, according to Variety, Jennifer Aniston, soon to be seen with Bateman in The Switch, is circling a unspecified role.

**King Of Kong **director Seth Gordon is the man that New Line hopes can finally bring it to the screen.
