Robert Zemeckis already has Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard lined up to star in his new, untitled spy thriller. He's adding some able support with the hiring of Jared Harris.

Written by Steven Knight, it's a period thriller that will find Pitt and Cotillard as assassins who fall in love while working a mission to take out a German official. They end up getting hitched, but a spanner is thrown in their happiness when Pitt learns that his missus is actually a double agent for the Nazis and his next job will be to kill her.

Harris' role isn't specified by Variety, but he could well be the original Nazi target in the film. Despite an original plan to have the cameras rolling last autumn, Zemeckis is now ready to kick off shooting next week in Europe, aiming to have the film in cinemas later this year.

Harris, last seen in The Man From U.N.C.L.E., has worked on indie movie Certain Women and will be seen in Sean Penn's new drama The Last Face.
