Jared Harris Set For Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Having turned Jared Harris into Sherlock Holmes’ ultimate nemesis, Professor Moriarty, in A Game Of Shadows, we can only imagine the devious plots Guy Ritchie will set him to cooking up in his latest, **The Man From U.N.C.L.E.{ =nofollow}.

But imagining is all anyone outside of the filmmaking team will be able to do for now, because while Harris is aboard the adaptation of the 1960s TV series there’s no indication which role he’s taking on. He could conceivably be a devious criminal mastermind (most likely working for the evil sorts at T.H.R.U.S.H., given the show’s driving mythology), but we’ll have to wait and see.

What we do know for sure is that Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer are playing Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, the agents of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, who operate in the shadows to make sure big threats are neutralised. Beyond that, the plot is being kept quiet, which is a good call for an espionage outfit.

With a cast that also includes Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki and Hugh Grant, Ritchie is set to kick off filming next week for a shoot that will encompass the UK, Rome and Naples. Nice work if you can get it…

Talking of work, Harris is on screens now in The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones and will next be seen in horror pic The Quiet Ones, Paul W.S. Anderson's volcanotastrophe Pompeii and Laika's new 'toon The Boxtrolls (well, heard, rather than seen in that one).
