Would you rush to see a horror title called The Shuddering? It sounds a little like a spoof take on classic B-movie chillers, but director George Ratliff and star January Jones are hoping people will take them seriously, setting up the film and flogging the rights at Berlin’s European Film Market{
The Shuddering, written by The Haunting In Connecticut 2: Ghosts Of Georgia’s David Coggeshall, will find the Mad Men actress as a woman who returns to a small town where she began experiencing strange visions.
Driven to find out exactly what has been causing them, she digs into the mystery, only to discover that it stretches back far further than she could imagine. Yes, it’s one of those horror movies where people start suffering something odd, investigate and wind up wishing they had just put up with the unusual phenomena in the first place.
Ratliff, who last directed Salvation Boulevard, is scheduled to start production on the horror in July, with the delay necessary for Jones to finish work on Mad Men’s final season. She last appeared in Seeking Justice and Western adventure Sweetwater and is currently filming Andrew Niccol’s latest film,** Good Kill**, which sees him reuniting with Gattaca star Ethan Hawke.
