Following the new Bad Lieutenant, Nicolas Cage is heading back to New Orleans at the start of next year for the vigilante thriller Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Joining him, we've just learned, will be the comely and alliterative January Jones, who stars in Mad Men and who also just signed on for Unknown White Male.
Jones plays Cage's wife (marriage to Cage and Liam Neeson in the same week: impressive, no?), the victim of a brutal crime that pushes Cage towards a vigilante organisation. "In the best Hitchcockian tradition", it says here, Cage gets in over his head. Action! Danger! Excitement! Eye-boggling and that little nervous laugh!
Robert Tannen (Even Money) wrote the script, Tobey Maguire's company is producing, and the director is Roger Donaldson. Filming will presumably need to be completed before Cage starts work on Drive Angry in April, which makes for a tight schedule if Jones is filming Unknown White Male in January.
