If you watched the entire first season of Amazon's podcast-adapting drama Homecoming and wondered if Julia Roberts would be returning for the next season, you might be disappointed to learn that, while she's still on as an executive producer, she won't star in the new run. Yet you might be happy to learn that Janelle Monáe will instead be the lead.

Monáe will portray a tenacious woman who finds herself floating in a canoe, with no memory of how she got there — or even who she is. Season two will further explore the storyline that was teased in the season one finale post-credits scene that featured Colin Belfast (Bobby Cannavale) and his newly minted Geist Group superior Audrey Temple (Hong Chau) squaring off, with Audrey calming her nerves with a mysterious medicine after the encounter.

Writer/producer Sam Esmail is also still involved, but there's no word yet on when the show will return. It's a good day for stories about Monáe – she's also in the trailer for Harriet, about the escaped slave who became an abolitionist and political activist who helped free many others.
