Director Eli Roth is busy shooting his adaptation of hit video game Borderlands, and now we have our first look at the film, albeit from an unlikely source: the image of Cate Blanchett's main character, Lilith comes via co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, who posted the shot to twitter.
With Craig Mazin on script duty, the story for the film finds Blanchett's character, an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returning to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas (Edgar Ramírez). Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team— Roland (Kevin Hart), a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Curtis), the scientist with a tenuous grip on sanity; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a persistently wiseass robot.
With production underway, there's no word yet on a release date, but it should be in cinemas next year.
