Having dealt with ability-bestowing pills on Netflix's Project Power, Jamie Foxx will be back on the streaming service for vampire-battling action movie Day Shift.
Foxx, who is also on produce, will star as a hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 8-year old daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires.
Tyler Tice wrote the original script, which has since been picked up by John Wick director Chad Stahelski's 87Eleven Entertainment company, and handed off to John Wick: Chapter 3 writer Shay Hatten for a rewrite. And Stahelski has JJ Perry, who worked for him as a second unit director and stunt coordinator, in the director's chair, continuing the 87Eleven ethos of elevating stunt coordinators with promise to the top job.
There's no word on when this one might shoot, though it'll likely go into production soon, assuming Foxx has space on his schedule.
