Jamie Bell Joins Nymphomaniac

All the recent scuttlebutt around Lars von Trier’s already-controversial latest project Nymphomaniac has been about Shia LaBeouf’s talk of the actors having real sex on screen. While the producers have been busy, er, laying that chatter to rest with assurances about body doubles and visual effects, the director has gone ahead and hired other actors, with Jamie Bell and Connie Nielsen set to jump aboard.

They’re not the only new additions, with Nicolas Bro, Jesper Christensen, Jens Albinus, Shanti Roney and Severin von Hoensbroech all confirmed to join LaBeouf, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgard in the film.

Gainsbourg is starring as Joe, a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who is badly beaten and left in an alley. She’s discovered by charming bachelor Seligman (Sarsgaard), who helps her and hears the story of her lusty life.

Von Trier will begin shooting the film in Germany today. He’s planning a two-part release and will apparently produce versions in both soft-core and hard-core varieties. Because he’s thoughtful that way, is Lars.
