Sam Worthington's getting a little company in his new thriller Man on a Ledge. Deadline reports that Jamie Bell has locked in a deal to nab one of the other starring roles, and **The Hurt Locker’**s Anthony Mackie is entering negotiations for a part.
Worthington will be the titular character, a former New York cop jailed for a crime he didn't commit, who escapes custody on the day of his father's funeral and threatens to commit suicide and mess up the pavement by jumping to his death.
Bell's his brother, a criminal planning a heist at the same time his sibling is out on a ledge. There’s also a female psychologist who has to talk him down (Amy Adams is said to be interested in the part), and we’re guessing Mackie will either be playing a cop colleague or another close friend in Worthington’s life.
Asger Leth, who has made his name directing documentaries such as The Five Obstructions and Ghosts of Cite Soleil, is tackling his first fictional film, working from a script by Pablo Fenjves.
We just hope Will Ferrell's Allen Gamble from The Other Guys isn't part of the team involved in helping the wannabe jumper - anyone who has seen the film (or just the trailer) knows that doesn't go well...
