UPDATE: In related Chapter 2 casting news, Variety reports that Andy Bean has won the role of Stanley, as played in the first film by Wyatt Oleff. The club continues to grow!

Andy Muschietti and his It team are still gathering the cast they need to people the horror movie's sequel. And now we know who will be playing the grown Eddie Kaspbrak, as James Ransone is joining the ensemble.

First gleaned from Ransone tweeting about the casting by Consequence Of Sound, the news has now been confirmed by Deadline. He'll be the older version of the twitchy, health-troubled character played in the original by Jack Dylan Grazer.

Ransone joins fellow adult Losers Club members Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader for the film (though some are still finalising their deals), in which the demonic Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) returns to haunt the town of Derry. While most of the club have moved away and forgotten what they went through, a devastating phone call brings them back to confront the terror again.

Gary Dauberman once again adapted Stephen King's novel (itself blending the two timelines), and the cameras will be rolling this summer in Toronto. Ransone will next be seen in House Of Cards creator Beau Willimon's new sci-fi series The First, about humanity reaching Mars. It should be on our screens via Hulu and Channel 4 later this year.
