And the prize for mystery story of the day goes to...this one! It appears that James Mangold is set to direct The Archive, from a script by playwright and screenwriter David Auburn.

All that we know about the story is that it involves time travel, and was pitched by Auburn for Mangold to direct. Auburn's dabbled in the field already - after adapting his play Proof for Gwyneth Paltrow et al, he went on to write the script for The Lake House, with its chronologically confused lovers.

Mangold's last two films, 3.10 To Yuma and Walk The Line, have been well worth a look, so fingers crossed he can do as well as he tackles a new genre.
