To head off further speculation about who will be leaping aboard his new comicbook pic The Suicide Squad, writer/director James Gunn has tweeted out a full – well, there may still be a few surprises up the film's sleeves – list of those who will appear. And there are some new additions to the ensemble, including Alice Braga, Julio Ruiz and, most interestingly of all, one Michael Rooker.
He's of interest because he was reportedly aboard a while ago, with trade magazines spilling a story that he was in talks to play King Sharkin the super-anti-hero sequel. Rooker quickly debunked the idea, but it appears Gunn has found a spot for one of his regular actors.
The other new arrivals include Joaquin Cosio, Mayling Ng, Sean Gunn, Jennifer Holland, Juan Diego Botto and Tinashe Kajese. They join the returning likes of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, with higher profile newbies including Idris Elba, Taika Waititi and Nathan Fillion.
The Suicide Squad will be out in August 2021, with cameras starting to crank later this month.
