He’s been putting in great performances in all sorts of movies this year, popping up for memorable appearances in the likes of Flight, **Iron Man 3 **and World War Z. And James Badge Dale clearly made a good impression on Joe Carnahan while shooting The Grey, because the director has just cast him in an unspecified role in his latest, **Stretch.
Fellow Carna-veteran Patrick Wilson stars in the film as a down-on-his-luck limo driver deep in debt to a nasty bookie. He spots a chance to earn some easy cash when a mysterious, reclusive billionaire (Chris Pine) offers him a healthy fee to drive him around.
But while Pine hits a lot of the usual clubs and other hotspots, he’s also looking to unload a list of his criminal associates to the highest bidder, which means there are some very dangerous people looking for the vehicle.
Brooklyn Decker was recently cast as Wilson’s party girl former flame, while Ed Helms will play another driver who acts as his sounding board.
Carnahan will have the cameras whirring next week in Los Angeles, using a low budget from Jason Blum’s company. It’ll hit US screens on March 21 next year, and should be driving into our cinemas around the same time.
Those wanting to see Dale stealing more scenes should look out for The Lone Ranger, which rides in on August 9.
