Jake Gyllenhaal

They've just worked together on Life, which is set on the ISS (International Space Station), so we suppose it's easy for Jake Gyllenhaal and director Daniel Espinosa to add a few more letters to "ISS" and make The Anarchists Vs. Isis.

Despite Espinosa locking Gyllenhaal away in a sealed station with a dangerous alien creature, he's apparently happy to work with the director again, and they're both attached to the adaptation of Seth Harp's eponymous Rolling Stone article. We figure the name might change on the way to screens, but we'll see.

Bold Films is backing this one, which chronicles a group of American volunteers, socialists and outcasts who sign up to help the Kurdish militia in the fight against Isis in Syria. We wouldn't expect this one for a little while yet as it's still early days and there's no writer attached to the script yet. Gyllenhaal seems interested enough that he's agreed to star and produce via his Ninestories company alongside partner Riva Marker.

Life has just hit our screens. Gyllenhaal has Okja hitting Netflix (and in cinemas for South Korea and the US) on 28 June.
