Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok was largely aimed at upending a lot about Asgard, including destroying the place itself. Stalwart elements of the previous movies were either sidelined or slaughtered. One person missing entirely from the film (and subsequent Thor appearances) was Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif. Good news! She's back for Thor: Love And Thunder.
It's not 100% official yet, as this is simply a Deadline report, but the trade site's sources appear confident that she'll return in some capacity, and it'll be fun to see her interact with the likes of Thor, Korg and co., and fellow returnee Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who will become her own version of Thor.
And that might not be the only time we'll see Sif: the same sources that have her appearing in the new Thor outing point to her potentially popping up in the Loki series headed to Disney+ last year, and whose new teaser was among the highlights of the big Disney investor day announcement extravaganza.
In related MCU news, Love And Thunder is just one of Marvel's movies part of a new Disney release date shuffle. It'll now arrive (in the States, at least) on 6 May, 2022, while Black Panther II is headed to 8 July same year, while Captain Marvel 2 lands on 11 November that year.
Before that, in non Marvel releases, we can expect The King's Man on 12 March 2021, Free Guy on 21 May, 2021 and Death On The Nile on 17 September, 2021.
