This weekend, during the Television Critics Association summer press tour, Florence Pugh announced that she's joined the cast of Hereditary director Ari Aster's new horror movie. According to Collider, Jack Reynor and Will Poulter are among those joining her.
Pugh and Reynor are playing a couple who travel to Sweden to visit their friend's rural hometown for a famous mid-summer festival. It starts as an idyllic retreat, but devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition spurred by a pagan cult. The Wicker Man's Edward Woodward would surely empathize.
The cast for the new chiller includes Vilhelm Blomgren, William Jackson Harper, Ellora Torchia and Archie Madekwe, and US company A24 will be providing backing, which is hardly surprising as Hereditary has become its highest-grossing movie, while also unnerving the wits out of many.
