Having hit it big with Kung Fu Panda, Jack Black is delving back into animation, albeit behind the camera this time, for a film about Cryptozoology.

Variety reports that there are few other known details about the movie, only that it's set in the study of such mysterious, most likely fictional creatures as the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot and an honest Member of Parliament.

Despite his history voicing 'toons, Black is staying clear of the cast for now, instead producing the film, which Universal's Illumination unit (the team behind the Steve Carell-starring CG title Despicable Me next year) will create.

Jason Micallef, who is responsible for Butter, which made Hollywood's "Black List" of most exciting unproduced screenplays this year, will crank out the first draft.
